American bakeries range from wholesale operations that supply restaurants to neighborhood shops that sell bread, pastries, cookies and cakes over the counter, and many of them also pour coffee. Bagel shops boil and bake on site and sell out of favorite flavors by late morning; donut shops open before dawn and are often family-run; patisseries and cake studios take custom orders for weddings and birthdays and usually need one to two weeks' notice. Ice cream parlors, gelato shops and frozen yogurt bars are seasonal in the northern states and year-round in the South and on the West Coast. Prices are posted per item, by the dozen or by the pound, and most shops now take cards and mobile payment.

My favorite place for lunch near campus! Thereβs something for everyone here - gluten free options, vegan options, whatever you might want. My favorite is the ultimate grilled cheese and tomato soup combo - the grilled cheese comes with caramelized onions in it and itβs amazing. And all of their espresso drinks are delicious. Iβve never had a bad one. Yeah the line is long if you order in person, but if you plan ahead and order online and go to their pickup window when it says itβs ready itβs a really smooth process. When theyβre not swamped the staff is super friendly, especially the regulars who work there year-round even when the students are gone. I love coming here in the summer in the early morning - they know my order before I ever say it!

This is a good bagel joint. They have a lot to offer the good people of Syracuse, and I got to try their tasty bagels and even a nova lox and cream cheese bagel, it was made well and that bad boy is thick. Decent bagel, decent prices, right in the busy of it all that is the University of Syracuse. They have a ton of foods options and beverages as well and if you havenβt tried them, give it a go.

A very popular place for Syracuse students! Can get extremely crowded midday with long lines. Bagel sandwiches are decent but on the smaller side.

College student overload but was down the street getting tattooed so checked this place out for lunch. Parking can be difficult. This place is very busy and jam packed all the time. Always a line and a wait. Food was very delicious. The Reuben was amazing, they were nice to accommodate the sauerkraut on the side. Turkey Hill BLT was huge! Very tasty and they were very good to double check about the citrus allergy and remove the aioli sauce. Drip coffee was good. They give free stickers which i LOVE. Prices were decent and i would def return if ever in the area. Bottled water was only $2! Also got an oatmeal cookie and some bagel chips for later. The pizza bagel was also yummy and adding pepperoni is highly recommended.

Itβs easy to see why Collegetown Bagels is so busy. This location is situated on the Syracuse University campus. The food was very tasty and the order was correct. There was tons of flavor in the cheese melt, which was a spicy Italian bagel with mozzarella cheese on it. The Autumn Sky sandwich was good but I wish that the sourdough bread was fresher. In my opinion, the bread makes the sandwich. If the bread is not fresh, the whole sandwich is ruined. I enjoyed the sandwich with bacon, apples, brown mustard, and spinach. All was not completely lost on the bread because the other ingredients were fresh and flavorful. I placed my order at 11:25 AM and wanted my order to be done by 12. Instead, my food was ready by 11:44. I decided to pick up the order early because I didnβt want my cheese melt to get soggy. I was quite disappointed with their timing of my order. If I couldnβt get to the restaurant until 12, I am sure that I would have had a different opinion on my cheese melt. Overall I am impressed with Collegetown Bagels and I will try them again, maybe just not with an order to go if I order hot food.
